- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 1/4 cup whole milk

- 4 egg yolks
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and line cake pans.
- Melt white chocolate until smooth; set aside.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Mix in melted white chocolate.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture.
- Divide batter into pans and bake 30–35 minutes. Cool completely.
- For frosting, cook egg yolks, evaporated milk, sugar, butter, and vanilla over medium heat until thickened. Stir in coconut and pecans. Cool.
- Frost between layers and on top.
