- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Peel, core, and chop apples into small pieces. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Add the egg, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped apples.
- Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C). Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and combine with powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Stir until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over fritters and serve warm.
