Ingredients
- 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions

Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of water and drain.

Sauté sausage in olive oil until browned. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, cook onions until soft. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
