  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (28 oz each) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 15 lasagna noodles
  • 16 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil, sauté onion and garlic, brown beef and sausage, add tomatoes, tomato paste, and seasonings. Simmer 20–25 minutes.
  • Mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and parsley until smooth.
  • Cook noodles al dente, drain, lay flat.
  • In a 9×13-inch dish, layer sauce, noodles, ricotta, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finish with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  • Cover with foil, bake 25–30 minutes. Remove foil, bake 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
