Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 4 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame oil for finishing

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and coat in cornstarch.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger, whisking to combine.
  3. Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef in batches, stir-frying until crispy and browned.
  4. Remove beef, add sauce to the pan, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the beef to the pan and coat with the sauce. Stir in green onions and serve immediately.
