Perfect for a cozy weeknight or an intimate dinner, this recipe is simple, indulgent, and guaranteed to impress anyone lucky enough to sit at your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with salt, pepper, and paprika. Sear until golden brown, 3–4 minutes per side.
  • Remove chicken and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add sun-dried tomatoes.
  • Pour in chicken broth, scraping up browned bits. Simmer a few minutes. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan, allowing sauce to thicken.
  • Add orzo and simmer 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Return chicken to skillet, cover briefly to finish cooking. Sprinkle fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

  • Stir orzo frequently to prevent sticking.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine before the broth.
  • Adjust seasoning at the end—freshly cracked pepper adds a lovely kick.
