- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
- 6 lasagna noodles, broken into 2-inch pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onions until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
- Add ground meat and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
