Description

A crispy, spicy-sweet chicken bowl with a zesty hot honey sauce, fresh vegetables, and a comforting grain base—this dish is perfect for any night of the week. Packed with flavor, it’s the ultimate satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk (optional)
  • 1 cup hot honey
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 cups rice (white, brown, or quinoa)
  • Fresh vegetables (lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes)
  • 1/4 cup ranch dressing or yogurt-based sauce
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the hot honey sauce: Heat honey, red pepper flakes, garlic, and lemon juice in a saucepan until warm. Set aside.
  • Prepare the chicken: Whisk together flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl. Dip chicken in beaten eggs and coat it in the flour mixture.
  • Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  • Assemble the bowl: Layer rice at the bottom, add fresh vegetables, and top with crispy chicken.
  • Drizzle hot honey sauce over the chicken and garnish with cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy chicken, double-dip the chicken in the flour mixture.
  • Make your own hot honey by combining honey with chili flakes or hot sauce.
  • Vegan option: Substitute chicken with crispy tofu.
