Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (lean or extra-lean)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (canola or avocado)


Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil and ground turkey. Cook, breaking it into crumbles, until browned and no longer pink (about 6–7 minutes).
  • Lower the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  • Pour sauce into skillet. Stir to coat the turkey evenly. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened slightly.
  • Stir in green onions, reserving some for garnish. Remove from heat.
  • Serve over rice, noodles, or in lettuce cups. Garnish with remaining green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
