Ingredients

1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup water (for syrup)

3 to 4 cups cold filtered water

Ice cubes

Optional garnishes: lemon slices, fresh mint leaves


Instructions

  1. Combine sugar and 1 cup water in a saucepan; heat gently, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool syrup.

  2. Juice lemons and strain to remove seeds/pulp.

  3. In a large pitcher, mix lemon juice, cooled syrup, and cold water. Adjust to taste.

  4. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice.

  5. Garnish with lemon slices and mint if desired.

Notes

For a sparkling twist, add chilled sparkling water instead of still water before serving. Adjust sweetness by adding more syrup or lemon juice. Always strain lemon juice for smoothness.
