Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet, dark, or milk)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Use a cookie scoop to form dough balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are just set.
  • Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a chewier cookie, underbake slightly and let the cookies set on the baking sheet. If you like, add chopped nuts, dried fruit, or oats to customize the recipe.
