Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup colorful sprinkles (optional)

 


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.

  • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.

  • Mix together flour, baking soda, and salt, and gradually add to the wet ingredients.

  • Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles if desired.

  • Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls and place on the baking sheet.

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is slightly underdone.

  • Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For chewier cookies, underbake slightly and let them cool on the sheet before transferring.

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
