Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your pan.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each.
  • Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the batter, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
