Description

Dubai Chocolate Cake is a moist and decadent chocolate cake with a luxurious Middle Eastern twist thanks to cardamom and rich chocolate ganache. Perfect for celebrations or indulgent treats, it balances deep chocolate flavor with tender crumb and smooth finish.


Ingredients

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
  • ¾ cup hot coffee or hot water

2 . Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped

3 . Optional toppings:

  • Chopped pistachios
  • Edible gold leaf


Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 8-inch pans.
  • Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cardamom.
  • Whisk sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to wet mixture, starting and ending with dry.
  • Stir in hot coffee or water until smooth.
  • Divide batter between pans, tap out air bubbles.
  • Bake 30-35 minutes, test doneness with toothpick.
  • Cool 10 minutes in pans, then completely on wire rack.
  • Heat cream until simmering, pour over chocolate; stir until smooth.
  • Spread ganache between layers, cover cake, and smooth ganache on top and sides.
  • Decorate with pistachios or gold leaf.

  • Don’t overmix batter to avoid toughness.
