Dubai Chocolate Cake is a moist and decadent chocolate cake with a luxurious Middle Eastern twist thanks to cardamom and rich chocolate ganache. Perfect for celebrations or indulgent treats, it balances deep chocolate flavor with tender crumb and smooth finish.

- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- ¾ cup hot coffee or hot water
2 . Ganache:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
3 . Optional toppings:
- Chopped pistachios
- Edible gold leaf
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 8-inch pans.
- Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cardamom.
- Whisk sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to wet mixture, starting and ending with dry.
- Stir in hot coffee or water until smooth.
- Divide batter between pans, tap out air bubbles.
- Bake 30-35 minutes, test doneness with toothpick.
- Cool 10 minutes in pans, then completely on wire rack.
- Heat cream until simmering, pour over chocolate; stir until smooth.
- Spread ganache between layers, cover cake, and smooth ganache on top and sides.
- Decorate with pistachios or gold leaf.
