- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Fresh ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
- Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain, and slice the bell peppers and onions.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch to create the sauce.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned.
- Add garlic, bell peppers, and onions to the pan. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat. Let the sauce thicken for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the beef for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Add chili peppers if you like a bit of heat in the dish.
