Ingredients
Scale
- 2-3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, browned
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, brown the butter by cooking it until it turns golden and releases a nutty aroma. Set aside to cool.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Add the brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, brown butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
Notes
- For an extra special touch, add toasted nuts or chocolate chips to the batter.
- Make sure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor and texture.
