Description

This hearty Bowtie Pasta with Ground Beef is a comforting meal made with simple ingredients. The savory ground beef, aromatic garlic and onions, and rich tomato sauce coat the bowtie pasta perfectly, creating a dish that’s satisfying and full of flavor. Quick and easy to make, this dish is perfect for a family dinner or meal prepping for the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of pasta water to adjust the consistency.
  • Serve the pasta in bowls, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Notes

  • For added creaminess, stir in a dollop of ricotta or a splash of heavy cream.
  • Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach to the sauce for extra nutrition.
