Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz bowtie pasta
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of pasta water to adjust the consistency.
- Serve the pasta in bowls, garnishing with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
- For added creaminess, stir in a dollop of ricotta or a splash of heavy cream.
- Use ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach to the sauce for extra nutrition.
